The Fairtrade Cause's collaboration with i2 Cool

Even after my internship at i2 Cool came to an end, my work at the ESG startup isn’t over. After learning about the Fairtrade cause, i2 Cool has kindly agreed to collaborate with us to donate some of their innovative products to aid the farmers in the Philippines.

First, allow me to introduce the iPaint. Inspired by the Saharan silver ant with self-cooling biological functions, the team invented the iPaint that achieves a sub-ambient cooling effect without electricity.

Using the novel Daytime Passive Radiative Cooling technology, the iPaint reflects >95% solar rays and emits >94% mid-infrared rays into outer space, significantly cooling temperatures by up to 30 degrees. After painting a layer of iPaint in their houses, farmers can experience relief from the scorching heat and enjoy indoor sustainable cooling without additional financial and environmental costs.

Next, we have the iTextile. Invented with the same DPRC technology, iTextile clothing reflects solar rays and transmits infra-red radiation from a person’s body to cool outer space. Thus, when worn by farmers, the iTextile shirts significantly cool their bodies and mitigate the heat stress of working long hours under the scorching heat.

Currently, 6 farmers we maintain regular contact with are a part of this collaboration. We would like to sincerely thank i2 Cool for their generous efforts, and more updates will be posted as we wait for the outcome of this fruitful partnership.
